Washington state credit union installs NCR software to manage ATM network

June 8, 2010

BECU, formerly Boeing Employees Credit Union, is the nation's first financial institution to license and deploy NCR Corp. APTRA Vision software to manage its ATM network, BECU and NCR officials announced Tuesday.

APTRA Vision provides BECU with a comprehensive view of the credit union's ATM network, which includes 183 machines. The software retrieves the ATM network's operational data and inventory information from the network. "It gives us a snapshot of how ATMs are operating across our entire network," Shirley Taylor, BECU's virtual banking channel manager, tells ATMmarketplace. "The ability for our ATM operations team to analyze data quickly and easily is essential to daily operations and ensures our members always receive the best experience we can provide."

The credit union, which is based in Tukwila, Wash., is a long-term NCR customer. In January 2007, BECU purchased 50 NCR envelope-free SelfServ model ATMs from the Duluth, Ga.-based manufacturer. BECU's entire ATM network is comprised of the NCR ATMs, Taylor says.
