VyStar Credit Union recently celebrated its "Good is everywhere" initiative which challenged its employees and members to volunteer in their communities. It also gave its members free entry to attractions such as museums, science centers, music and sporting events to thank them for their dedication, according to a press release.
Employees took part in a variety of community efforts such as home renovations for individuals with developmental challenges at Pine Castle in Jacksonville, a pop-up food pantry for students at Kennesaw State University in Atlanta and others. In total, employees logged 8,252 volunteer hours and participated in 216 events across Florida and Georgia.
"Our employees don't just volunteer, they uplift the very neighborhoods our members call home," Patricia McElroy, SVP and president of VyStar Foundation, said in the release. "Through our 'Good is everywhere' celebration, we empower every team member to take action that strengthens our communities. Because when we come together to serve the communities where our members reside, we create lasting change where it matters most."
