The deadline to sign up for the $197.5 million class action settlement against Visa and Mastercard is Jan. 22. This settlement comes from a lawsuit that accused Visa and Mastercard of illegal surcharge fees on bank-operated ATMs, according to a report by NJ.com.

This settlement covered transactions from Oct. 1, 2007 to July 26, 2024. JPMorgan Chase, Wells Fargo and Bank of America had previously settled with Visa and Mastercard for $67 million. Visa and Mastercard did not admit to any wrongdoing through the settlements.

In order to apply for the class action lawsuit, users can file a claim at atmclassaction.com. It is not stated how much the individual can expect to receive from the lawsuit.
