BEDMINSTER, N.J., and BILOXI, Miss. - Verizon Wireless, the nation's leading wireless service provider, and Triton, the leading provider of ATMs for off-premise locations, have entered into an agreement where Verizon Wireless will support a CDMA (Code Division Multiple Access) option on Triton ATMs.

According to a news release, the Verizon Wireless option will be offered on new ATMs, coming from the factory fully configured and tested, and will be available as an upgrade to more than 50,000 Triton ATMs installed across the United States that are currently using dial-up phone lines.

Additionally, the CDMA option will be offered to Triton customers who are currently using CDPD (Cellular Digital Packet Data), a form of wireless telecommunications which is being phased out at the end of this year.

"Retailers and financial institutions of all sizes continue to turn to wireless to decrease their operating costs and reduce deployment times," said Brian Kett, Triton's president.
