Valley National Bank appoints COO

Valley National Bank, a subsidiary of Valley National Bancorp., has promoted Russell Barrett to EVP and COO. He previously served as chief transformation officer, according to a press release.

In this role, Barrett will improve efficiencies and help deliver the bank's strategic vision.

"Russ is an invaluable member of our senior executive leadership team and brings a fresh and invigorating perspective to all aspects of our strategic vision," Ira Robbins, CEO, Valley Bank, said in the release. "As we move forward as one of the premier relationship-based banks in the country, Russ will play an integral role in driving growth and scale during a period of historic change at Valley."
