KAMPALA, Uganda -- Crane Bank hopes to get more than 50,000 new customers to open Crane Access accounts, which feature an ATM card as a prominent benefit, by March of 2003, according to a report on allAfrica.com.
The bank's director, Ajay Kumar, said in a Nov. 22 interview that following the Nov. 8 launch of a special promotion offering prizes to those who opened Crane Access accounts, there has been overwhelming response from customers.
During the three-month promotion, Crane will give away prizes in monthly drawings, culminating in February with a drawing for a grand prize Suzuki Giymny.
Ajay said that Crane Bank recently upgraded its network of 10 ATMs, adding mobile phone top-up and payment of utility bills facilities to standard transactions such as cash withdrawals.
