U.S. Bank adds free MoneyPass ATM access for Kroger prepaid cardholders

July 23, 2012

Kroger prepaid debit cardholders can now enjoy surcharge-free transactions at 23,000 ATMs nationwide in the MoneyPass Network, which is owned by Elan Financial Services.

The move is an extension of U.S. Bank's financial services relationship with The Kroger Co. one of the world's largest retailers. In 2010, U.S. Bank and Kroger formed a strategic alliance that offered Kroger customers and associates a suite of payment products and financial services, including reloadable prepaid debit products that offer rewards with every purchase and can be used to shop and pay bills online.

"Providing surcharge-free transactions at MoneyPass ATMs demonstrates our commitment to enhancing our Kroger partnership and bringing added value to our Kroger prepaid debit cardholders," said Peter Klukken, senior vice president at U.S. Bank. "Customers save money on groceries and fuel at The Kroger Family of Stores and Fuel Centers with purchases made using the Kroger prepaid debit card, and they now can save even more money by using them at the surcharge-free MoneyPass ATMs."

"Kroger is focused on providing money management solutions that enable our customers to make smart choices with their money," said Kathleen Kelly, president of Kroger personal finance. "The MoneyPass Network together with the Kroger prepaid debit card will provide customers with access to over 23,000 ATMs surcharge free. We are delighted to be able to help customers save a little of their hard earned dollars."
