HOUSTON -- UMB Bank, an $8 billion financial institution with 160 branches in Missouri, Illinois, Colorado, Kansas, Oklahoma and Nebraska, has joined Pulse EFT Association.
In addition to UMB Bank, 27 other financial institutions that are part of UMB Bank's Ultra ATM driving network also will become Pulse members.
Jim Braddock, vice president of UMB Bank, said in a news release that UMB wanted to align itself with a network "that is committed to serving the needs of financial institutions first and foremost."
Braddock said another reason that UMB Bank joined Pulse is to gain access to relevant trade and marketing data compiled and analyzed by the network.
"Our financial industry ownership, low costs and governance structure are increasingly unique and attractive to all institutions regardless of size or type," said Stan Paur, Pulse president and chief executive, in the release.
UMB Bank operates more than 600 ATMs; all will bear the Pulse brand, along with all newly issued debit cards.
Braddock will also join the Pulse Operations Committee, which is responsible for developing the operating rules and technical standards of the network.
