Monsters and Critics.com: Two design engineers at England's University of Warwick say they've devised a simple $450 plastic shield that could help eliminate the compromise of cards at the ATM.
Kevin Pearson and Mark Rushton say they've devised a transparent plastic shield that can be securely retrofitted to existing ATMs or built into the design of future units. Any attempt to attach a non-transparent device on top of the shield is impossible, the two engineers claim, without being obvious to ATM users.
