INDIA -- According to a report in The Asian Banker, BNP Paribas and UTI Bank have signed a memorandum of understanding for sharing ATMs, effective this month.
UTI Bank has the country's second-largest ATM network, with about 400 machines, and plans to increase the number to 500 by year-end. BNP Paribas has about 200 ATMs.
Earlier this year, according to a late June report in The Hindu newspaper, UTI Bank and two other private sector banks, ICICI Bank and HDFC Bank, entered into discussions with the State Bank of India in hopes of networking their ATMs.
