Triton updates Triton Connect software

January 30, 2002

LONG BEACH, Miss. -- Triton has released Triton Connect 3.3, a new version of Triton Connect, its software that allows deployers to control their Triton ATMs from a single remote location.

"From now on, just about the only time a system administrator will need to visit an ATM is to load the cassette," said Ernest Burdette, Triton's president and CEO.

According to Triton, managers will be able to automate many maintenance tasks from an offsite PC using Triton Connect 3.3. The application allows preset notification -- to an alphanumeric pager or by email -- for service needs. Triton Connect 3.3 can also direct messages to the appropriate service personnel. For example, a message to replace a cash cassette could go to one service bureau, while an out-of-paper notice could go to another.

Because Triton Connect 3.3 maintains ATM programming records, administrators can check or change the status of features like surcharging, couponing and others from their PC. The terminal status feature tracks messages, downtime and status history from a central location. Changes can be made for individual ATMs or for groups.

Triton Connect 3.3 allows managers to view the electronic transaction journal that is a standard feature on all Triton machines and save it locally. Managers can then export data to dozens of external programs for reporting. To ensure data security, Triton Connect will automatically back up data at user-defined intervals.

According to Triton, the redesigned call viewer reduces network traffic by 90 percent for improved performance.

To meet the needs of international deployers, Triton Connect 3.3 supports UK surcharge screens, as well as Euro and Rand currency symbols. It also supports multiple time zones.

Triton Connect 3.3 software is compatible with all current Microsoft Windows operating systems and connects to other computers on standard Novell Netware server-based networks. Triton Connect supports dial-up, TCP/IP, CDPD and VSAT communications. Any combination of up to eight of these connections can be supported simultaneously.
