Triton earns Mississippi business honor

October 27, 1999

Triton Systems has won an honor on its home turf, the number three spot on a list of the 40 fastest-growing, privately-owned companies in Mississippi. The Fast 40 program, in its second year, is sponsored by the Brunini, Grantham, Grower & Hewes law firm, GodWin Group, KPMG Peat Marwick and the Mississippi Business Journal. The rankings are based on revenue growth over a three-year period. Founded in 1979, Triton is the nation's third-largest ATM manufacturer. Last year, Triton shipped more than 10,509 machines, a 35 percent increase over 1997. Triton expects to do even better this year. While the company won't release preliminary numbers, it said September of 1999 was its biggest month yet. The company opened a new $5 million, 88,000-square-foot production facility in the Long Beach (Miss.) Industrial Park last month. Construction of new administrative headquarters on the same site is set for early 2001. In June, Triton was named the Mississippi Exporter of the Year.
