MINNEAPOLIS - In a move designed to improve customer service, money order distributor Travelers Express Company Inc. has detailed plans to make its product available through ATMs.
Working with ATM manufacturer Diebold, Travelers Express announced that money orders would be available through Diebold ATMs at selected retail outlets as part of a test program.
Details of the program, such as location of available ATMs, were not disclosed. Diebold performed a feasibility study with about 100 participants, and came away encouraged that customers would prefer the ATM over traditional means of obtaining money orders.
"This program effectively migrates traffic away from customer service counters to the ATM," said Thomas W. Swidarski, Diebold vice president of strategic development and global marketing, in a news release. "Stores are now able to utilize personnel to focus on other value- added customer-service activities."
As a global technology leader and innovative services provider, Diebold Nixdorf delivers the solutions that enable financial institutions to improve efficiencies, protect assets and better serve consumers.
