RESTON, Virginia -- Transaction Network Services, Inc. has introduced a new family of smart modems, the TransXpress 4000 line, which is designed to support wireless, ISDN, dial-up and IP communications for ATMs.
The company bills the TransXpress 4000 as "the industry's next generation smart modem."
"With both wireless and high speed access available, an ATM processor can perform all ATM functions, including graphic downloads and advertising, quickly and cost effectively for their off premise ATMs," said Brian Bates, executive vice president of TNS' POS division.
The product is available for all types of access, including wireless communications for ATMs.
"With the TransXpress 4000, ATM customers using Mobitex or Cellular Digital Packet Data (CDPD) wireless communications can achieve faster connections and competitive pricing with the added flexibility that wireless communications offer," said Kent Phillips, TNS vice president.
The TransXpress 4000 is designed to increase deployers' communication options by adding "daughter" or expansion cards based on their requirements. According to TNS, the modem will allow deployers to add wireless communication to the ATM, literally, overnight.
To support deployers' growing desire to download graphics to off-premise ATMs, the TransXpress 4000 features V.90 56k dial-up connectivity.
