RESTON, Va. - The Huntington National Bank has selected Transaction Network Services, a subsidiary of TNS, Inc. (NYSE:TNS), to provide always-on, managed ATM network connectivity.
Under the multi-year agreement, Huntington National Bank will use TNS TransXpress Secure to support its ATM portfolio. TransXpress Secure is a fully-managed, "always-on" networking solution that provides a secure path between the ATM and the host processor via the Internet, using industry-standard IPSEC.
With TransXpress Secure, Huntington National Bank can access TNS' secure data networks using a broad array of network connections, including persistent dial, DSL, wireless and dedicated. TNS manages the entire network solution, including ordering the local telecommunications service, scheduling the installation of the service at ATM locations and providing ongoing network management.
"With its dedicated IP backbone, TNS is providing a secure, always-on connection that allows us to quickly deploy new machines and support the data-intensive applications of our enhanced IP ATMs," said Lori Murray, senior vice president of ATM Channel & Cash Position Management at Huntington National Bank.
"Huntington National Bank is a long-time customer of TNS for our traditional dial-up services and we are pleased to provide an Internet-based transport solution that meets their requirements for security assurance and throughput," said Larry Crompton, senior vice president and general manager of TNS' POS Division.
