HOUSTON-- Tidel Technologies, Inc. (Nasdaq: ATMS) reported an all-time high for ATM shipments in the most recent quarter and fiscal year. Tidel shipped 3,739 ATMs for its fourth quarter ended Sept. 30, 2000, an increase of 36 percent over the 2,742 units shipped in the same quarter a year ago and an increase of 9 percent over the previous quarterly record of 3,419 units set in June 2000.
For the year ended Sept. 30 , the company shipped a record 12,426 units, an increase of 76 percent over the 7,061 units shipped in fiscal 1999 and an increase of 200 percent over the 4,140 units shipped in fiscal 1998.
According to the company, the successful introduction of the is2000 contributed to its strong performance. "This serves as a good launching point for fiscal 2001. We expect to use this platform to expand our already strong position in the U.S. retail ATM market. Further, we expect to have our first material sales of ATM products outside of North America this year," said James Rash, Tidel chairman and CEO.
