HOUSTON -- Tidel Technologies, Inc. reported a 94 percent increase in the number of ATMs shipped in 1999 compared with total shipments for 1998. Tidel deployed a record 8,403 ATMs in 1999, representing an increase of 4,079 units over the previous year. In 1998, the company shipped 4,324 ATMs, a 33 percent increase over the 3,242 units it shipped in 1997. Based on industry statistics published in Faulkner & Gray's Bank Network News, that was the highest percentage increase among the top four ATM manufacturers in the U.S. at that time. Chairman and CEO James T. Rash said, "We are very pleased to have significantly exceeded the records established in the previous year, and we expect continued overall growth in sales, as well as profits, for 2000."
