Thunes partners with GCash for digital wallet service

Thunes, a payments platform, partnered with GCash, a finance app based in the Philippines, to allow GCash users to add funds to their digital wallets from U.K. and European bank accounts, according to a press release.

This service is designed for Filipino expatriates who live in European countries to send money back home through digital wallet remittances. Thunes aims to improve financial inclusivity and improve the lives of Filipinos.

"We are delighted to be a Member of Thunes' Direct Global Network, to enable GCash users to top up their accounts instantly from their overseas bank accounts," Paul Albano, general manager of GCash International, said in the release. "This service will support hundreds of thousands of Filipinos in the U.K. and Europe by improving how they move money across borders into their digital wallets with better control over their finances. In this way, Filipinos living abroad can better utilize GCash to maintain ties with their home communities."
