WEST CHESTER, Pa. - MEI announced that three of its retail self-service system customers were honored during KioskCom's Fifth Annual Excellence Awards last month.
According to a news release, the awards honor companies and individuals for their leadership, innovations and success with kiosk business solutions.
BodySpex received the award for "Best Kiosk Application in Other Industries" for its BodySpex Scale, which measures body fat and composition and sends the data to private online accounts, where users can track their progress.
Sports O Zone's self-sanitizing system for sports equipment was a finalist in the "Most Creative/Best Use of New Technology in a Kiosk Deployment" category. And Massage Concept's massage chair was a finalist in the "Best Kiosk Application for Entertainment or Gaming" category.
An MEI electronic-payment system was a key component of all of the transaction-based self-service systems mentioned above.
"The KioskCom Excellence Awards are held to recognize individuals and companies that enrich our industry through the development and use of innovative self-service technology," KioskCom general manager Lawrence Dvorchik said.
