Thieves recently used a Caterpillar lift to pull an ATM from a Wells Fargo bank in Oakland, California. The culprits left the vehicle at the scene of the crime, according to a report by Fox KTVU.
A Wells Fargo spokesperson said the incident is still under investigation but that its security measures were largely effective.
"We have strong ATM security protocols so they remain operational and available to serve our customers' needs," Edith Rocio Robles, assistant VP of corporate communications, Wells Fargo, said in the report.
