Thieves target Oakland ATM on Christmas

A group of thieves tried to steal an ATM from an Oakland, California supermarket on Christmas. They allegedly smashed a truck through the front door of the Lucky supermarket and tried to remove the Bank of America ATM, according to a report by Kron 4.

Both the ATM and the building were damaged in the incident.

"The burglars used a truck to smash and break open the store's front doors and pull out the ATM machine," the Oakland Police Officer's Association told the news outlet. "However, the thieves were not able to escape with the ATM."

The truck was later found abandoned. The suspects have yet to be identified.
