According to a story published in the Toronto Sun, at least four thieves used a drill to bore out locks and break into ATMs at six Canada Trust branches over the Labor Day weekend. Three branches each in Burlington and Oakville were hit between 6:30 p.m. Saturday and 11 a.m. Sunday, according to police. A substantial amount of cash was stolen. Police suspect the thieves are professionals from Montreal. They apparently know the workings of the trust company well; detectives think it could be an inside job. The only description police would provide was that the four suspects are white males. They used a red 1995 Chrysler Intrepid, but the car hasn't been found.
