Thales releases retail-focused card-payment interface

BAD HERSFELD, Germany - Thales e-Transactions, an integrated payment software provider that works with self-checkout systems, announced the release of integrated card-payment functionality for self-checkout systems. According to a news release, Thales O.P.I. (open payment initiative), an XML-based interface developed specifically for the retail sector, works as an integration vehicle.

Thales has successfully integrated its payment technology with Wincor Nixdorf's Beetle/iScan checkout system. This integrated solution offers a broad range of benefits, including increased security, increased payment speed and lower cash-handling costs.
