Texas man receives sentence for stealing from ATMs

A man from Bowie, County, Texas has been sentenced to 18 months in federal prison for stealing from multiple ATMs in the area. He stole $127,654 from one ATM at TEXAR Federal Credit Union and more than $10,000 from another ATM at a different branch of the same credit union, according to a report by KSLA 12.

Officials said he used a stolen pickup truck and attached chains to break open the ATMs. The Department of Justice has also sentenced an additional six people for their involvement in these thefts.

He has been ordered to pay restitution in the amount of $257,789.
