Texan man arrested for alleged pipe bomb ATM attacks

Federal authorities have arrested a San Antonio man who allegedly used pipe bombs to target ATMs.

Dustin Jay Ammons allegedly placed the bombs at two banks in the area and is being charged with possession of a firearm and possession of an unregistered destructive device, according to a report by Yahoo.

The explosive devices were placed in September. Authorities discovered white powder residue that was found to be pentaerythritol tetranitrate commonly called PETN, a component in explosives.

Upon searching Ammons home, authorities claimed to discover supplies used to make PETN, along with a 40-caliber pistol. If convicted, he could face up to 15 years in prison.
