PALO ALTO, Calif. -- MapBlast!, a Web site that offers users interactive maps, driving directions and trip planning services, will exclusively provide maps and directions for e-commerce ATMs being launched by Media Designs International this month at select Texaco service stations. The ATMs, known as interactive teller machines (i-TMs), will allow Texaco customers to view on-screen displays of maps and door-to-door driving directions. In addition, customers will find e-commerce and traditional ATM services available. With a total of 13,000 service stations, Texaco plans to install 1,000 i-TMs. The machines are expandable and host stations can add additional e-commerce partners as needed. The i-TMs will feature 3-D animation and live-action video on a 15-inch screen.
