Tennessee woman arrested after allegedly reporting false ATM robbery

A woman was arrested after allegedly reporting a fake ATM robbery. Marissa Hoesch reported she was robbed at an ATM in Gallatin, Tennessee, according to a report by WSMV.

The police department used K-9 units and drones to try to locate the robber, the Gallatin Police Department stated.

"The Gallatin Police Department takes all calls for service seriously, particularly those involving violent crime. While Gallatin remains a safe community, false reports divert valuable resources away from real emergencies and place unnecessary strain on personnel and equipment," the GPD stated in the report.

She has been charged with filing a false report.
