TD Banknorth customers get a break from Canadian ATM fees

PORTLAND, Maine - TD Banknorth and TD Canada Trust announced June 21 that TD Banknorth customers can make withdrawals from any TD Canada Trust ATM in Canada without incurring a foreign ATM fee of $1.75. TD Canada Trust has more than 2,500 Green Machines, and is one of Canada's largest ATM networks.
TD Banknorth customers immediately will begin to enjoy this ATM fee waiver when using a Green Machine for cash withdrawals. TD Canada Trust customers also are able to use any of TD Banknorth's more than 700 ATMs located throughout New England and the Mid-Atlantic without incurring extra fees.
TD Banknorth customers using TD Canada Trust Green Machines will not see the customary foreign ATM fee on their monthly statements. Customers using their VISA debit card will be subject to a VISA international assessment fee that is equivalent to the exchange rate plus 1 percent.
