The TD Charitable Foundation, the charitable division of TD Bank, has given two grants equaling $200,000 for the greater Lewiston, Maine area following the mass shooting on Oct. 25. One $100,00 grant will support the Maine Community Foundation's Lewiston-Auburn Area Response Fund for relief efforts in the area and another $100,000 will go to United Way of Androscoggin County to support the 2-1-1 Maine line, a human and health services phone number, according to a press release.
The bank will also provide financial assistance through TD Cares in the area, which offers fee refunds and other support. Eligible TD employees can also obtain small grants to help with insurance deductibles, as well as funeral, family and living expenses.
"As a member of the local community for more than 170 years, TD grieves with our customers, colleagues and neighbors in Maine," Sheryl McQuade, regional president of New England, TD Bank, said in the release. "Our bankers are ready to assist the community in this time of need."
