IPP Media: In a move to enable people have a wider range of purchase options, the Tanzania Postal Bank (TPB) will launch a debit cards service.
Iman Kajula, the bank's chief of marketing and business development services, said the services would be available soon after the installation of ATMs in all TPB branches countrywide.
At least 20 ATMs will be installed in strategic locations throughout the country, he noted, including in banking halls and outside banking premises.
The cards can also be used at ATM with the Tanpay logo. Two banks in the country, TPB and the Federal bank of the Middle East (FBME), are the current members of Tanpay. It will be the first time in the history of the banking industry in Tanzania for two banks to share ATM access.
