Synergistics announces new ATM vestibule manager

September 13, 2005

NATICK, Mass. - Synergistics Inc., a manufacturer of scalable, Web-based access control systems, announced in a Sept. 12 news release its new ATM Vestibule Manager, a  product that uses the company's exclusion-based access control process.

The exclusion-based access control process is designed to prevent card information from being read, stored or communicated from an ATM door reader to any other device. Standard access control products need existing data in order to grant access to the ATM vestibule.

In standard systems, when a card is scanned, the information is stored in the memory panel that controls access to the door. Once the information is stored on the panel, it can be accessed from the host system. Synergistics' system does not allow card information to be read or stored, thus protecting the privacy of the cardholder.

Synergistics' new ATM Vestibule Manager can be integrated to work in conjunction with a standard access control system, allowing smaller bank branches to manage access to the ATM vestibules, as well as to the bank building using one system.
