Symstream appoints new director

MELBOURNE, Australia — The Board of Symstream Technology Groups Ltd. has named Terry Rhodes as director of the company.
According to a news release, Rhodes has more than 25 years of experience in the telecom industry, in both developed and developing countries. Rhodes was part of a senior management team in the mobile arena in the mid-1980s. He joined Cable & Wireless, where his role included work on international mobile startups such as MTN in South Africa and Optus in Australia.
In 1998 Rhodes co-founded Holland-based Celtel International BV, the Pan-African cellular operator with 30 million customers across 15 countries that sold in 2005 to MTC Kuwait, now Zain, for U.S. $3.4 billion.
Rhodes is a British citizen living in Amsterdam, Netherlands.

"Terry brings extensive Telecoms experience to our Board, which complements the skill sets of our other board members in the areas of information technology, financial services and general management."
