Switch upgrade gets assist from SmartVista, Paragon

March 18, 2014

When Erste Group Card Processor, the card processing arm of Erste Group, one of eastern Europe's largest financial services providers, migrated from its legacy switch to SmartVista by BPC, the company called on Paragon Application Systems to streamline the process.

According to a Paragon news release, EGCP needed a solution that would simulate function and regression testing for all transaction processing endpoints. The company is usingParagon FasTest for financial message formats that include Visa, MasterCard, SPDH, HISO 87, HISO 93, ATM and BIC ISO.

To increase productivity, EGCP schedules tests to run unattended, later receiving a report with the results. The"compare"feature inFasTestallows the company to compare recent and previous test results to confirm the reliability of their system.

Following completion of function and regression testing, EGCP will useFasTestto test regular system upgrades and mandates, Paragon said. The company provides regular software updates for mandates from MasterCard, Visa and other networks within one month of their announced functionality changes.

"Using Paragon
FasTest, we can identify performance weak spots which helps us optimize our system,"EGCP CTO Bozidar Pavlovic said in the release."The Paragon team support is timely and proactive, and the cooperation is excellent."
