Suspect appears in federal court over $333K ATM theft

Jefferson Jose Marquez appeared in federal court in Rapid City, South Dakota for allegedly stealing more than $333,000 from ATMs in upstate New York with four accomplices, according to a report by KOTA.

The men allegedly used malware attacks to gain access to the cash. Marquez is being charged with conspiracy to commit bank larceny and bank larceny.

If convicted he will face a maximum sentence of 5 years for the first count and 10 years for the second count with $250,000 fines for each charge.
