ABC7Chicago.com: The state of Illinois is taking aim at banks that double charge customers for some ATM transactions.
Illinois Lt. Governor Pat Quinn calls it double dipping, when a customer uses another bank's ATM and pays one fee for the machine and then another fee from the customer's own bank.
Quinn says it's time to use the financial leverage of the state and require that all banks doing business with Illinois and Chicago stop charging artificial ATM fees.
