Spanish bank orders 140 BANQIT ATMs

February 18, 2003

STOCKHOLM -- Spanish bank BBVA has ordered 140 of BANQIT's new Q-Cash 35 multi-function ATMs.

According to a news release, the machines are part of BBVA's strategy to redesign its branches by moving routine services to self-service channels such as ATMs. An "express area" at BBVA branches will feature both the Q-35 ATM and BANQIT's latest dedicated passbook updater, Q-Coput 80.

BANQIT's multi-function Q-Cash ATMs cover a mix of features including cash dispensing and deposits, passbook updating, automatic bar code scanning for bill payment, Web access and marketing with full-motion video based on browser technology.

The first units have already been installed at BBVA branches in Madrid, Barcelona, Bilbao and Alcazar de San Juan, according to the release. The ATMs are running the same application used for BBVA's attended services, which is created in BANQIT's TFM development environment.
