South Hadley, Massachusetts mulls crypto ATM ban

South Hadley, Massachusetts, is considering a ban on cryptocurrency ATMs. The South Hadley Police Department created the proposal due to concerns around fraud and money laundering, according to a report by WWLP.

"We know that, by the introduction of this bylaw, basically it allows us the best angle on protecting our residents, especially those that are being targeted, like the elderly," Detective Jess Camp said in the report.

One big concern of the police is that it can be very difficult to trace and recover funds when the victim sends them over to the scammer. A town meeting will be held on Nov. 5 to discuss the proposal.
