Some experts question Gartner's fraud figures

Digital Transactions: Gartner Inc.'s estimate that fraud loss on debit cards in the U.S. totaled $2.75 billion for the 12 months ending in May caused a stir in the mainstream media when it was released Aug. 1. But in the absence of hard data on the problem, it also has experts raising questions about the number and some of the firm's other conclusions.
