Mountain View, Arkansas-based Stone Bank has become the first financial institution in the state to implement interactive teller technology in a branch staffed with universal bankers rather than on-site tellers, according to a report at Arkansas Online.
In addition to its video teller machine, the bank's new branch near Pine Bluff features a mobile device charging station, a coffee bar, a TV and a covered patio equipped with a full kitchen, which is available for use by community groups.
In time, Stone Bank plans to install six interactive teller units system-wide, according to the report. The terminals will be able to perform "any transaction you can do across the counter," chief retail banking officer Kirby Williams told the publication.
The bank's commitment to technology is also evident in its mobile app, the report said. Stone bank's "rock the bank" feature lets customers sign in the app on their mobile device, then shake the device to see their current bank balance.
"It seems like a silly little thing, but people love that," Williams told the publication.
