ATLANTA - Following the completion of a successful trial in the eastern United States, payment card provider Skylight Corp. and US Bank, N.A., on Jan. 14 announced plans to go nationwide with a program to provide ATM/banking access to an estimated 50 million Americans who do not have banking services.
Skylight's Stratus ATM Card provides banking services to people who do not quality under their current status. The card is also a payment vehicle for employers to pay their employees.
The Skylight/US Bank program previously covered the locations in US Bank's eastern region. The service is now available in all 24 states where the bank has locations. US Bank, the eight-largest bank in North America, has operates 2,186 branches and nearly 5,000 ATMs nationally.
"The Stratus account not only provides banking services to these customers, but also provides substantial savings over check cashers," O.G. Greene, Skylight chairman, said in a news release.
