Singapore has unveiled its first gold-dispensing ATMs. On Wednesday, units operated by Asia Gold ATMs went live at two upmarket venues in the island republic — Resorts World Sentosa and the Marina Bay Sands Hotel, according to billionaire.com.
The machines, which are custom-made by Smart Gold ATM, dispense a variety of products created by Swiss refiner PAMP. Items range from 1 to 10 grams in weight and include specially designed coins commemorating the nation's golden jubilee in 2015.
Smart Gold ATMs allow buyers to transact in a variety of languages, and provide a user-friendly screen interface, the publication said. They also feature a built-in camera — not for security, but for selfies. Buyers can pose with their purchase and have the photo sent to them via email.
