DAYTON, Ohio - TEC Singapore Electronics signed a deal to license NCR Corp.'s two-sided thermal-printing technology.
TEC Singapore Electronics, a division of Toshiba TEC Corp., designs, manufactures and sells printing devices to ATM-, POS- and kiosk-equipment manufacturers.
According to a news release, the patented printing process can cut the use of paper-roll receipts by 50 percent. It also can provide operational savings on freight, storage, disposal and roll-changes, as well as open the door for new applications such as event-ticketing.
"Two-sided printing technology allows businesses to expedite the check-out experience as well as address the growing consumer demand for environmental stewardship, which can increase customer loyalty in an increasingly competitive environment," Peter Dorsman, vice president and general manager of NCR's Systemedia division, said.
