A problem vaguely described as a “connectivity issue” intermittently disrupted ATM and online services of DBS and POSB Banks across Singapore on Monday. Customers began to complain of outages at around 10 a.m.; the bank said the problem was resolved by mid-afternoon.
A spokesperson for DBS told Channel News Asia that all branch locations and the “vast majority” of the bank’s 1,100 ATMs and online functions were not affected by the issue. The bank declined to say how many ATMs were involved in the outages.
"The bank took immediate steps to rectify the situation and all services were fully restored at about 3 p.m.," the spokesperson said, adding that the bank was aware of the problem even before it began to receive customer complaints.
It was not until 2:10 p.m. that POSB addressed the issue via Twitter: “You may experience some delay with selected POSB services currently. Apologies for the inconvenience. We’re currently working to resolve it.”
