Thieves recently stole a Bitcoin ATM from a liquor store in Silicon Valley. The group used a cord from a white van to pull machine through the front of the store, knocking out a door, according to a report by NBC Bay Area.
The culprits did not take the cash ATM inside the store. Police are currently investigating the incident.
"Honestly, if I was going after Bitcoin and trying to steal it, I would hack instead," Caroline Chen, a business professor at San Jose State University, said in the report. "Because then I know I can steal millions of dollars of Bitcoin in one fell swoop, instead of the ATM at the local convenience store that has $200 of actual cash in it."
