Eight is the lucky number in India now that the State Bank of India has revised its ATM withdrawal rules.
In metro cities, SBI will allow account holders up to eight free transactions a month before a fee is charged, according to report in Livemint. The free transactions can be a combination of SBI ATMs and other bank ATMs.
For ATMs not located in a metro city, account holders will receive 10 free transactions from either SBI ATMs or a combination of SBI ATMs and other bank ATMs.
For account holder that maintain an average balance of more than ₹1,00,000 (U.S. $1,336) in their savings accounts, if they use SBG ATMs they will have unlimited transactions.
For insufficient funds, the bank will charge ₹20 (U.S. $0.27).
