Saudi Arabia's Skyband gets processing upgrade

January 26, 2012

Skyband, a merchant acquiring service and end-to-end payment processor in Saudi Arabia, has upgraded its payments processing network with the TraxcomSecure portfolio of dial, IP and mobile payment products from NewNet Communication Technologies, a provider of secure transaction processing, mobile multimedia content delivery and wireless network infrastructure solutions.

In a press release this week, NewNet said it will provide its Total Control 1000 and AccessGuard platforms, which will be deployed at several points of presence to meet the capacity and performance requirements of Skyband's expanding payments network.

In the fast-growing Middle Eastern countries, increased card usage has driven a surge in electronic payment transactions. NewNet payment platforms will help Skyband compete in this market with a high-speed transaction network that can handle several million transactions.

"Strong growth in our payment transaction business prompted us to seek a vendor with a proven track record who can help us plan for the future, as well as accommodate our immediate needs,” said Osman Oueida, executive vice president at Skyband.

"We believe that the efficiency, security and performance offered by NewNet's market-leading payment processing systems will enable us to deliver advanced and superior m-commerce and e-commerce payment services through our network."
