A group of thieves attempted to steal a Bank of America ATM at a Safeway parking lot in San Francisco. Although they heavily damaged the machine, they were unable to remove it and had to flee in a second vehicle, according to a report by The San Francisco Standard.
"They failed. Both literally and figuratively," the San Francisco police union said on X (formally Twitter).
No arrests have been made. The area has seen significant ATM thefts recently, which has led to some business owners installing extra security such as multiple locks and cameras.
