Romanian man sentenced for ATM skimming

Danut Valentin Urseiu, 32, was sentenced to a year and a day in prison for an ATM skimming operation. He worked together with others to skim multiple ATMs in Southern Ohio, according to a report by Journal-News.

He used these skimming devices to steal cardholder data. During an investigation, authorities found his fingerprints on pinhole cameras placed on ATMs. His cell phones also contained photos of skimming devices and cash.

Urseiu pled guilty to these crimes in May 2025.
