The city of Reno, Nevada, has introduced its Biggest Little Blockchain, a blockchain app built by BlockApps. With the tool, the public and city departments will be able to access city records through an online platform, according to a press release.
The Historic Registry will be the first records system to use the Biggest Little Blockchain, with plans for more records to be added to the network later including maintenance work, permits and licenses.
"I'm excited that the Biggest Little Blockchain showcases the usefulness of blockchain technology for all Reno residents," Reno Mayor Hillary Schieve said in the release. "Citizens deserve transparency and accountability from their government, and this new pilot project empowers every Reno resident with easy access to information, and how fitting that we are starting with the historic buildings that are the heart and soul of our community."
