Regions Bank updates mobile app

Regions Bank has updated its mobile banking app to improve functionality and support more than 1.85 million of its customers that bank on-the-go using the app on iOS and Android devices, according to a press release.

Enhancements include a fresh modern design, new login features to help users reset passwords and retrieve user names, the ability to enroll in digital banking, larger fonts and buttons and a consistent customer experience whether the user is on a phone or tablet.

"The Regions Mobile App update represents hundreds of hours of research and testing to make sure that we provide a clean, modern look with improved navigation and usability improvements that make the most common activities — transferring money, card services, and deposits — easier and more convenient," Andy Hernandez, Regions chief digital officer, said in the release. "The update comes at an important time, as we've seen significant increases in both people using the app and in how they're using it since the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic."

Since 2002, Regions has seen a significant increase in its customers' mobile use. The bank's digital logins are up 23%, between April/May 2019 and April/May 2020, and for that same time period the volume of mobile deposits rose 28%.
